SafeSweep: Phone Cleaner Privacy Policy

 Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the SafeSweep: Phone Cleaner app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by BD Developer Squad (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service, supported by advertising. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application is designed to work entirely on your device. The Service Provider does not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your content, and the Service Provider has no ability to see your photos, videos, contacts, or files.

To provide its features, the Application reads the following information from your device. All of it is read on the device, used on the device, and never transmitted anywhere:

- Photos and videos in your device's media library, including their file names, sizes, dates, folder names, and durations. These are read so the Application can find duplicate, similar, blurry, large, screenshot, and WhatsApp media, compress them, and show them to you. Image analysis for duplicate and similarity detection is performed on your device.

- Contacts stored on your device, including names, phone numbers, and email addresses. These are read so the Application can find duplicate and incomplete contacts, merge them, delete them at your request, or export them to a backup file that is saved to a location you choose on your device.

- Information about the apps installed on your device, including their names, storage sizes, and when they were last used. This is read only if you grant Usage Access, and is used to show you unused and background apps.

- Device security and battery information, such as whether a screen lock is set, whether developer options are enabled, which apps hold which permissions, and battery level, health, temperature, and voltage. This is read to generate the on-device security report and battery information screen.

- Files inside a folder that you explicitly choose using your device's own folder picker, so the Application can list large files in that folder.

None of the above is collected by the Service Provider, transmitted off your device, or shared with anyone.

The Application does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device, and does not request location permission.

Advertising

The Application displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type, operating system version, and interactions with the ads shown. This collection is performed by Google, not by the Service Provider, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

The Service Provider does not receive any of your photos, videos, contacts, or files as part of this, and does not send any of your content to Google or to any advertiser.

Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the Application shows a consent form before any personalized advertising is served, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your advertising consent choices at any time from Settings inside the Application, using the "Ad privacy options" item.

You can also limit ad personalization at the device level using your device's own settings for the advertising identifier.

Local Vault

The Application includes a Vault feature that hides photos and videos behind a PIN you choose.

- Files placed in the Vault are encrypted and stored in the Application's private storage on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere.

- Your PIN is never stored in readable form and is never sent anywhere. The Service Provider cannot recover it.

- Vault contents are excluded from your device's automatic cloud backup, so they are not copied to your Google account.

- If you uninstall the Application, clear its data, or forget your PIN, the contents of the Vault are permanently lost and cannot be recovered by the Service Provider or by anyone else.

Please note that if a photo or video was already backed up to a cloud service such as Google Photos before you added it to the Vault, that cloud copy is outside the Application's control and is not affected.

Third Party Access

The Application does not transmit your content to any third party.

The Application uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies about handling data. Below are the links to the privacy policies of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

- Google Play Services — https://policies.google.com/privacy

- AdMob — https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543

The Service Provider may disclose information:

- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;

- when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Because the Service Provider does not collect or store your content, there is no such content available to disclose.

Permissions

The Application requests the following permissions, each only for the feature that needs it. You may decline any of them, in which case only the feature that depends on that permission is unavailable; the rest of the Application continues to work.

- Photos and videos (media access): to find, preview, compress, hide, and delete media at your request.

- Contacts (read and write): to find duplicate and incomplete contacts, and to merge, delete, or export them at your request.

- Usage Access: to show per-app storage size and last-used time in App Cleaner. This is a setting you enable yourself in your device's system settings; the Application cannot enable it for you.

- Internet: used only to load advertisements and the advertising consent form. No other network activity takes place.

The Application cannot delete another app's data, force-stop an app, or uninstall an app on your behalf. Where such an action is offered, the Application simply opens the relevant system settings screen so that you can perform it yourself.

Deletion of your photos, videos, and files is always confirmed by you, and on modern Android versions is confirmed a second time by the operating system itself.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all use of information by the Application by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

You may also revoke any permission you have granted at any time from your device's system settings.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider does not retain any of your data, because none of it is transmitted to the Service Provider.

Information created by the Application, such as your theme preference, your saved selections, and the contents of the Vault, is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the Application or clear its data.

If you have any question about data handled by the Application, please contact the Service Provider at bddevelopersquad@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (bddevelopersquad@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Because your content never leaves your device, it is protected by your device's own security, including your screen lock and Android's isolation of each app's private storage.

Files you place in the Vault are additionally encrypted using AES-256-GCM, with the encryption key protected by your PIN and by a hardware-backed key that cannot be exported from your device. This means Vault contents cannot be opened on any other device, even if the encrypted files were copied off your phone.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-09-02

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.

Contact Us

If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at bddevelopersquad@gmail.com.
